Techstitution is a project launched in Kosovo by UNICEF Innovations Lab, funded by the Austrian Development Agency and implemented by partners Open Data Kosovo, Girls Coding Kosova, and IPKO Foundation.
The main goal of the project is to learn practical software engineering skills by developing technologies to digitize institutional platforms.
The project activities will include:
– Engaging youth in democratic processes
– Learning new software skills
– Digital production for institutions
– Smart institutions
Training will be carried over a period of 1 month, with the aim of having 2 training per week, 8 days of training in total. The venue of the training will be theÂ Bunker at Bregu i Diellit in Prishtina.
What will participants benefit from the project?
Learning coding empowers you to do many things you wouldn’t otherwise be able to do. These things include hand-crafting your own websites, becoming an active citizen, networking and you’ll also be able to understand the technology shaping your world. Open Data Kosovo will contribute technical expertise in the field of software engineering as well as in digital product development management and quality assurance. Furthermore, it will use its experience in organizing and implement youth engagement digital capacity building workshops to design the planned workshops and ensure their proper execution.
Girls Coding Kosova (GCK) will provide technical support as well as access to their network of young women in technology. In order promote a multidisciplinary approach to problem-solving, select GCK members will serve as tech ambassadors disseminating concepts of how citizens involved in different sectors can benefit from and contribute to technology for social good.
