Kosovo based maker-space, Bonevet has celebrated its first anniversary with some remarkable results.
The Foundation UNE E DU KOSOVEN, has initiated the maker-space project BONEVET in Gjakova, Kosovo in 2014, to provide a stimulating environment for young enthusiasts to learn, ideate, design, create and build. With the support for the space from the Municipality of Gjakova, the place quickly turned to a fantastic place were creativity and collaboration is in the center.
In a letter written by the Chairman of Bonevet, entrepreneur Vllaznim Xhiha, the reported figures show quite impressive results of over 300 trained enthusiasts. But there is more to it. Xhiha announced that the maker-space aims to change the mindset of the younger generations in different areas of the country and replicate the model in other cities as well, thus scaling the number of skilled members throughout the country.
While speaking to Xhiha in the past, his goal is to motivate and inspire new generations towards science, technology, engineering and others, thus growing this concept beyond the maker-spaces and pushing it forward even classrooms and schools throughout the country.
The creative space in Gjakova has previously raised a round of crowd-funding of over 5k from local and international supporters.
