With the CSW Summit event just around the corner, on October 1st 2015 at Bonevet Makerspace in Gjakova, and after we had an interesting interview session with Epi Ludvik Nekaj on what we can expect for CSW Gjakova and the Crowdsourcing Summit in general, we’re going through the second round of speakers that are expected to be present and the topics they’re going to talk about during CSW Summit.

Vllaznim Xhiha

Vllaznim Xhiha is the founder of EYE (Encouraging Young Entrepreneurs), a Kosovo-based company, to support young entrepreneurs in setting up new and successful companies, by teaching them skills like critical thinking, problem-solving and communication.

He has invested and is Chairman in three Kosovar companies. Last year he has initiated the construction of Bonevet maker-space in Gjakova (Kosovo), while remaining true to his entrepreneurial spirit ever since co-founding the Swiss-based Company Newave Energy and successfully taking it to IPO on the Swiss stock exchange in 2007.

He was CEO and also member of the Board and in the last two years he was Chairman of Newave Energy. In 2011 Newave Energy was acquired by ABB. Xhiha began his professional career as an assistant and lecturer at the Technical Institute of Technology of Prishtina (1976-1980).

From 1981-1985, he was a member of the supervising engineer’s team or the construction of the water treatment plant and water distribution network for the town of Prishtina. In the period 1985-1992, he worked for the Swiss-based company Invertomatic SA. Whenever Xhiha is present, interesting discussions turn out so we’re expected to see the same tomorrow at CSW Summit Gjakova.


Mimoza-Kusari Lila

Mimoza Kusari-Lila holds a Master of Business Administration in the United States of America, while during this time, she continued studies at the Institute of Economics, University of Colorado and Duquesne University in Pittsburg, where she finished masters in E-Business.

Mimoza Kusari-Lila holds an undergraduate degree in economics from the University of Pristina. During her time at Duquesne University as the MBA student, Ms. Kusari-Lila was the founder and the first President of the Duquesne University Business Woman Association.

Upon her return to Kosovo in July 2001, Mimoza Kusari-Lila worked for the World Bank and USAID project to support Kosovo businesses. She also worked as project manager at the American University in Kosovo Foundation education plan for Kosovo, as well as in the establishment of the institution.

Mimoza Kusari-Lila became part of public service in 2003 when she has been offered the position of spokeswomen and Adviser to Prime Minister of Kosovo, Bajram Rexhepi. In this position Ms. Kusari-Lila served until December 2004. Mimoza Kusari-Lila served as executive director of the American Chamber of Commerce in Kosovo (AmCham), from 2006 to 2009.

During her time as the Executive Director of AmCham, the organization was officially accredited by the American Chamber of Commerce in Washington DC and the European Council of American Chambers in Europe (ECCAC). Mimoza Kusari-Lila became an active member of Kosovo politics in the elections of 2009, running for the major of Gjakova municipality and nearly won. In February 2010 Mimoza Kusari – Lila was elected as the VP of New Kosovo Alliance Party.

In general, elections held in December of 2010, Mimoza Kusari – Lila was the most voted female in the Republic of Kosovo. After New Kosovo Alliance joined the Government coalition, Ms. Kusari – Lila was nominated and approved as the Deputy Prime Minister for Economy and Minister of Trade and Industry, a position which she held from February 2011 until 2013, when she run for the second time as a candidate for Mayor of Gjakova. She won the elections and became the first and only female mayor in Kosovo. Mimoza is expected to be part of the panel on Crowdsourcing & Crowdfunding.


Roberto Esposito

Roberto Esposito (1985) is the Founder and CEO of DeRev, the principal crowdfunding platform in Italy for creative and innovative projects for the community. Roberto will be present to the audience through Sykpe for a 30 minute session and a Q&A round with people from the audience.
