One of the coolest tech festivals of the region, Dokutech together with A Maze, an international festival focused on the art and culture of games and playful media, are bringing to life the first game jam in Kosovo this Friday, 8th June.
A game jam is a hackathon for video games, where people gather for the purpose of planning, designing, and creating one or more games within a short span of time, usually ranging between 24 and 72 hours, and some even longer.
Participants are generally made up of programmers, game designers, artists, writers, and others in game development-related fields. Traditionally, game jams focus on video games; however, board games have also been the subject of game jams.
The game jam organized by DOKUTECH and A Maze, brings together professionals and starters and is mentored by game developers and artists, Franziska Zeiner, Marek Plichta and Thorsten S. Wiedemann. The Goal of this jam is to foster the local community to meet new people who are interested in creating games.
Entry for Game Jam is free, but make sure to register in advance: itch.io/jam/flip-the-script-jam. The event starts this Friday from June 8, 2018, at 10:30 and ends at 18:30, while interested participants can find more on the shared link.
