iiAward announces finalists

One Italian startup has been selected among the finalists of the iiAwards, the world startup competition organized by Paris Region Lab with the support of the City of Paris.

One Italian startup has been selected among the finalists of the iiAwards, the world startup competition organized by Paris Region Lab with the support of the City of Paris. Sara Canella, purposes is bring the new international way of water treatment, will represent Italy among finalists from more than 12 countries in Paris the 1st & 2nd December. The best 6 startups will join one of the incubator programs in Paris and they will have the chance to win 20.000€ for their project.

The iiAwards aim to encourage, support and showcase young innovative companies at an international level. These awards reward the most involved and innovative startups from emerging and innovative fields internationally. The Italian startup Solwa has been selected for the awesomeness of his work and the impact of the new ideas they are implementing:

Solwa is the result of the work of the Italian Sara Cenella. Solwa aims to be the new international way of water treatment. They want to find a solution and provide pure water for those communities that don’t have it. Their system to treat polluted or sea water for human consumption; is powered by solar energy and it is scalable. Solwa can also be applied to the energy sector, given the versatility and scalability that is the basis of the process.

This Italian company will have the possibility to meet members of the Open Innovation Club composed of the largest companies in France and present its work to the audience of the Grands Prix de Innovation, at the Cit de la Mode et du Design on December 2nd.

This event will bring together a large audience of more than 1500 decision-makers, entrepreneurs, academics, innovators and experts in the international innovation ecosystem.

Solwa will compete with projects from Netherlands, France, Costa Rica, Spain, United Kingdom, Germany, Austria, Israel, United States, Luxemburg, and Latvia. Then 6 prominent startups will be selected join one of the incubator programs managed by Paris Rogion Lab and participate in a 3-month intensive course in Paris. And finally, after a final pitch performance, the winner of the 2014 iiAwards will be announced.
