Kosovo start-up Hello closes its first seed investment round

Hello, the audio social network has closed its first round of seed funding from Ionic Investments. Ionic Investments is a new Kosovo-based investment firm founded by a small group of business angels with a diverse set of skills and backgrounds in entrepreneurship.

The round has been closed at a valuation of 1 million €, while the undisclosed seed funds will be used for team growth, product development, and to introduce Hello further to the global market!

Hello was founded in 2016 and since then it has reached 1.3 million downloads on Play Store and App Store, with more than 150,000 active monthly users. Until now, Hello was mainly operating through self-funding.

Hello initially launched as an audio social network to enable new connections between people — with the ultimate mission to make voice conversations cool again.

Today, Hello has evolved into a social network which offers its users a platform to connect in multiple ways and at a global scale. Hello, users can be matched with one another randomly while applying various filters to control for location, gender, and interests. In addition to voice conversations, Hello offers the option to create friend lists, chat and do video calls – spearheading a new wave of innovation within the industry.
