The Albanian ICT Awards was organized this year for the fourth time in a row, aiming to present and recognize the biggest technological achievements of the year in different categories.

BONEVET Makerspace, a creative working space equipped with the latest technology and located in Gjakova, Kosovo, was represented in the finals of the Rising star of the years category of ICT Awards from two teams; one composed from Elza and Flatra, and the other one from Bleart. From the three finalists of this category, two of them came from BONEVET, with Bleart Kepuska who was chosen as the winner of the Rising star of the years category.

Flatra Thaqi and Elza Krelani, two high school graduates, annual members at BONEVET, appeared as a rare team of girls, with the MeteoStation project, created with Arduino boards, using different types of sensors, which enable the user to watch different environment parameters like the temperature, humidity, electromagnetic field, etc.

Meanwhile, the winner of this category, Bleart Kepuska, who is an annual member at BONEVET as well, presented his Ultrasonic Radar with Arduino, a project that uses a ultrasonic sensor which detects the object distance releasing sounds. This project is focused on helping individuals with visual impairments.

It is worth mentioning that for Bonevet this is only a starting point, as they aim to push hard for more innovation and promote more work for science and technology.
