NatEv – Conquering the NASA Space Apps People’s Choice Award

NatEv Explorer is a web-based platform which synchronizes data from Nasa satellites in real time and categorizes them into different geological phenomenon by using artificial intelligence.

They fought for every vote and managed to get everyone on board to support them, from Kosovo’s Priminister, President and Ministers, to Albania’s Prime Minister and famous figures from the Albanian Community around the world.

It’s NatEv, the team about which we wrote a couple of days ago and their challenge to win People’s Choice Award from Nasa Space App Challenge, and which amazing team managed to win the competition with 68,903 votes, above ROBO-FABRIC from Bulgaria and RRC from Pakistan.

NatEv Explorer is a web-based platform which synchronizes data from Nasa satellites in real time and categorizes them into the different geological phenomenon by using artificial intelligence. The platform enables users to use a 3D interactive globe, which shows the occurrence of the natural events in real time and additional information regarding that particular event. Users have the chance to explore earth by using images from NASA satellites.

What now?

On the official site of NASA Space Apps Challenge, the NASA Team declares that it’s validating the votes before announcing the official winner. In any case, the winner has a chance to win an award which includes an opportunity to attend a NASA launch.

Beside the People Choice Award, NatEv is also competing on the category of Best use of Data, together with 4 other teams and with a total of 25 finalists judged by NASA executives. One team will be selected in each category and the Top winners will be announced this week.
