POINT Conference (Political Accountability and New Technologies) is a regional conference of civil society organizations from 7 countries of Southeast Europe, which are intensively engaged in using new technologies in their work, but it will also involve the participation of organizations, individuals, groups and institutions dealing with specific topics that the conference is focused on.
The conference featured talks on ActionSEE network in a Flash, Regional Presentations from different representatives of organizations, Matchbox “ Where Transparency and Accountability Advocates Get Project Support Project presentation, The Future of Political Turmoil in Macedonia – Surveilance, Protests, Government Leaks, and many more topics for discussion.
POINT 4.0 marks the fourth edition and a logical continuation of the successful POINT conferences, held from February 2012 to 2014.
POINT conference is organized by CA Why not (Zasto ne) from Bosnia and Herzegovina, in cooperation with Center for Research on Transparency and Accountability (CRTA) from Serbia, Metamorphosis Foundation from Macedonia, Mjaft from Albania, Center for Democratic Transition (CDT) from Montenegro, Analitika from Sarajevo, Fundacja TechSoup from Warsaw, Mediacentar from Sarajevo and Emerging Democracies Institute.
Partners in organization of conference are also National Endowment for Democracy (NED), US Embassy in Sarajevo, Balkan Trust for Democracy (BTD) and Heinrich BÃ¶ll Stiftung (HBS).
Specific topics or areas which will be in focus of POINT Conference for the next days include the context of use of new technologies, government accountability monitoring, open data, the success of technology-related projects of civil society, using new technologies for advocacy, monitoring different branches of government and much more.
