The future is back again! Pioneers Festival 2015, the major event for future technology and entrepreneurship is taking place (for the fourth time), on May 28th & 29th in the Imperial Palace, Vienna.

An exclusive audience of 2,500 individuals will see some of the most incredible future technologies that will change our world in the next years, including; “intelligent sports wear from Athos, “the fastest means of transportation the Hyperloop or Robotic Arms made by Forbes 30 under 30 Easton LaChapelle. Speakers like the most successful Angel Investor Gil Penchina give valuable insights and tools for startups. Furthermore, thousands of new connections and hundreds of partnerships will be made.

Under the umbrella of the Pioneers Festival, startups have access to several programs and initiatives, offered by Pioneers, as well as global partners, such as Cisco and Konica Minolta:

Kick-­Off for Pioneers Ventures and the new Pioneers Challenge 2.0

Pioneers give promising, early stage technology startups a stage. At the Pioneers Challenge, 50 startups from across all industries pitch for EUR 100,000 seed investment from Pioneers new investment fund Pioneers Ventures.

Previous winners include highly successful startups like and, who received together more than 10m in funding.

Pioneers Ventures, as well as the brand new format for the Pioneers Challenge at the 2016 Pioneers Festival, will officially be presented on May 28th. This year an amazing number of 1,600 startups from 95 countries applied for the Startup Programs.


Cisco and Konica Minolta, again “Global Partners” of Pioneers Festival

After the huge success of the first cohort of its European Entrepreneurs in Residence (EIR) program, Cisco, the worldwide leader in IT, is going to continue the initiative in collaboration with Pioneers. For this year’s Cisco EIR cohort more than 750 startups applied, 5 of which will be selected and announced at the Pioneers Festival.

The Cisco EIR Program aims to nurture early-­stage startups working on the next big idea for the Internet of Everything (IoE).

Once on­board, each cohort of entrepreneurs in Europe spends six months in residence with Cisco and Cisco partners in Vienna. The Cisco EIR Program offers successful startups strategic funding, access to co­working space, basic software tools and a potential opportunity to collaborate with Cisco product and engineering teams.

Last year’s program successfully supported startups like IoT/Cloud startup Flatout, Big Data and Analytics startup MammothDBA or Smart City startup Graphmasters.

Konica Minolta, a leading service provider for IT and document processes, partners with Pioneers since the beginning to empower startups around the world with its worldwide network, resources, and knowledge to realize their innovations successfully.

By involving its worldwide­based Business Innovation Centres (BIC) since 2014 – focusing on the fields Digital Workplace, Information Automation, and Healthcare the company is aiming to continue its close ties with the worldwide startup community. The BIC’s (London is one of four centers worldwide) are aiming to identify and realize new market opportunities and innovations by involving startups in a co­operative way. Last year Konica
