The Central Elections Committee of Kosovo – CEC has managed so far to successfully start the K-Vote project, which is a web-based results system providing data for the number of citizens participating in the local elections in Kosovo and now the results from the voting, in real-time, or so-called preliminary results.
The system developed by Macedonian company ivote.mk by the request of CEC, is being supported by real-time data from over 800 tablets that are in the hands of staff from CEC and that use a web-based interface to input the data, and this way supporting the online platform with input from across each municipality of Kosovo. The same company has also developed an application for iPhone, which has been published on the iTunes store by Metodij Zdravkin.
All interested people can access the results here on this link, while afterward, they can just select their municipality to see the preliminary results in real-time.
A similar project has been tried out in Albania as well, but there it failed while for Kosovo it looks like the project is working just fine. We’ll stay tuned to give more input in this direction.
