After over 240 applications the first Rails Girls workshop in Skopje, will be ready to host the lucky participants on the 11th and 12th of April 2014, during which they will explore magical world of Ruby on Rails, and build a web application.
The two day workshop, free to participant, is part of a global initiative called Rails Girls, who’s aim is to give tools and a community for women to understand technology and to build their ideas. Rails Girls was born in Finland, but is nowadays a global, non-profit volunteer community, through which participants; earn sketching, prototyping, basic programming and get introduced to the world of technology.
The lack of the engagement of girls in the tech community, has pushed forward a local team from Macedonia to make Rails Girls happen there, and thus exemplify that girls really can be excellent programmers and be successful.
Rails Girls Skopje is scheduled for 11th and 12th April, and registration is now closed for participants. We’ll make sure to keep you updated on the latest.
