More and more millions are flowing into the region, and latest news comes in from Serbia where Seven Bridges, an American-Serbian startup, has raised $45 Million in Series A funding led by Kryssen Capital.
According to Start-it, the investment is said to support the ongoing development of the platform, the first commercial platform for cloud-enabled genomic data analysis used by researchers and scientists around the world.
Seven Bridges is one of the fastest growing companies from the region, with a platform that enables key research in medicine and genomic research, in the battle against cancer. The scalable, cloud-based Seven Bridges Platform empowers rapid, collaborative analysis of millions of genomes in concert with other forms of biomedical data.
Thousands of researchers in government, biotech, pharmaceutical and academic labs use Seven Bridges, including two of the largest genomics projects in the world: U.S. National Cancer Institute’s Cancer Genomics Cloud pilot and Genomics England’s 100,000 Genomes Project.
The company has offices in Cambridge, Mass. Belgrade; London and San Francisco. In addition to the funding round, Seven Bridges has added two new members to its board of advisors: Tom Daschle, former U.S. Senate Majority Leader and Founder and CEO of The Daschle Group; and Kai-Fu Lee, one of China’s most influential technology figures and founding president of Google China.
