Representatives from US and European tech ecosystems are gathering for SVOD Europe Conference organized in partnership with Google Europe HQ on January 27-28 in Dublin, Ireland to promote the next step in developing Silicon Valley Open Doors (SVOD) conference, which launched in Silicon Valley in 2005.
The event includes a Startup Competition as well, which will be held on January 27 where 25 pre-selected startups will pitch in front of prominent entrepreneurs, investment experts, and representatives from enterprise firms at the conference. The organizers are highly encouraging startups from the CEE region to apply.
Attendees will hear from, and interact with, experts from the global tech industry as well as venture capitalists. The event will highlight the latest innovations and development trends and will be an opportunity for networking and matching entrepreneurs from Eastern Europe with investors from Silicon Valley and Western Europe.
“Ireland is uniquely positioned as a connector for the community of startups, entrepreneurs and investors across Europe and the United States. We are happy to host the event at Google to further develop this community in the region. Paddy Flynn, Startup engagement at Google Ireland.
The event title Unicorn vs Narwhal. Myth vs Reality†will examine the issue of rivalry between tech companies who use an all-you-can-eat investment strategy versus those who prefer the eat-only-to-live strategy.
In order to create a lively debate on financing schemes for the late rounds of high valuation projects, we have invited speakers who hold contrasting points of view.
In 10 years, the SVOD conference in Silicon Valley has become a perfect entry point to tech business for Europeans. This year, we decided to get closer to the market and conduct the conference in Europe in order to provide local entrepreneurs access to the U.S. experience without needing to move out of the region. On the other hand, we wish to offer an event that is focused not on gathering a large number of participants, but high-quality networking Denis Dovgopoliy, organizer of SVOD Europe, managing partner at GrowthUP Group.
The SVOD Europe Conference was launched in 2015, but its history began in 2005, when the well-known boutique conference Silicon Valley Open Doors (SVOD) first connected startups and entrepreneurs with high-profile investors, founders, CEOs, and other leaders in Silicon Valley.
SVOD Europe allows tech leaders from Eastern Europe to connect with their counterparts from more established tech ecosystems in an attempt to help entrepreneurship to flourish in this region. The program includes speeches from a brilliant lineup of guests, as well as the Startup Competition that allows 25 startups to present their products and services to prospective investors. Notable participants include Viewdle (acquired by Google), Looksery (acquired by SnapChat), InvisibleCRM, Wrike, Trucker Path, Eccentex, DriveWay, etc.
