BONEVET Makerspace located in Gjakova, Kosovo is the place where community members are more than welcome to join and work on designs, prototyping or manufacturing items using tools that would otherwise be inaccessible or unaffordable such as 3-D printers, digital fabrication machines and computer-aided design (CAD) software.
They’ve been doing quite some amazing stuff with kids in Gjakova and all over Kosovo, and for this summer they’re planning courses for young kids from Kosovo who live abroad and come to Kosovo for the summer, to join events at the Makerspace and expand their creativity and raise their capacity for knowledge in two of the trainings that BONEVET Makerspace in Gjakova offers.
Trainings in littlebits
There will be trainings in littleBits (www.littleBits.cc) and Arduino (www.arduino.cc).The littleBits course is organized for young students aged 8 up to 12, where they will be taught the littleBits element library and will work to develop creative projects of their own making during the summer camp.
The Arduino course is organized for young students aged 13 up to 18, where they will be equipped with the Arduino starter kit and all the working elements which they will need, through which they with raise their knowledge capacity towards programming microcontroller boards. And they will work in projects of their own choosing which they will build and develop during the course.
The two trainings will last for 10 regular working days where students will undergo 2 hour long training sessions throughout those 10 days of the summer camp. And at the end of the summer camp the students will showcase their projects in front of family and friends in an event organized by the BONEVET Makerspace. All action will be going on from 1st of July up to 14th of July 2015.
